It’s finally Friday, but it’s been such a chaotic week I have not managed to get to the final illustrations for Homeward. The final chapter itself is done, but I have two more illustrations planned that I need to get to. I did not want to leave my faithful followers high and dry though so I’ve included the art I have been doing for this year’s Inktober.
What is Inktober? I get that question a lot lately. It’s a prompt-a-day art challenge held every October on social media (before Facebook, Instagram, etc. it was on sites like DeviantArt). They post the prompts about a week before it starts so you can plan ahead a bit and then you draw and post as many as you like on the corresponding day. I did my first Inktober last year and now have six illustrations in an art show. For those curious of the prompts of these we have Crystal, Knot, Patch, Raven, Tick, and Slither.
Day 1: Gargoyle
Day 2: Scurry
Day 3: Bat
Day 4: Scallop
Day 5: Flame (Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle)
Day 6: Bouquet
Day 7: Trip
Day 8: Match
Day 9: Nest
Day 10: Crabby
Day 11: Eagle
Day 12: Forget (a Remembrall from Harry Potter)
Day 13: Kind
Day 14: Empty
And that’s all the Inktober drawings so far this year. I will try getting those two illustrations done this weekend along with Day 15: Armadillo & Day 16: Fowl. I hope you enjoyed this intermission. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or bemoan the lack of a story below:

These are very cool. Love the contouring and texture!
These are very striking! I really like all of these, but found myself dwelling on “trip” with the pack animals rounding the mountain. 😊
